I recently gave this speech in Iceland on the rise and fall of civilisations.
In this lecture, I talk through different theories of the rise and fall of civilisations and the extent to which they apply to the modern West. The event was very well organised by Professor Hannes Gissurarson of Iceland University – attendees ranged from academics and journalists to a former prime minister of Iceland.
