Speech at Cambridge University’s Centre for the Study of Existential Risk

This speech came about following the book I just published with Lord Fairfax, The Artificial Intelligence Revolution. The book has chapters from many of the top AI experts in the world; it is published by Springer Nature, currently ranked as the most elite academic publisher in Europe, and is designed to be used for teaching in universities internationally. In this speech, I talk through some of the complexities with respect to military AI and robotics, then talk through some different theories of consciousness, from neuroscience, physics and other fields, and what they mean for the possibility of machine consciousness.
